Day-wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kochi — Drive to Munnar & Tea Estate Evening

Arrive at Cochin International Airport and meet our driver for a scenic 3-hour drive to Munnar — one of South India's most beautiful hill stations at 1,600 m, carpeted with endless rows of tea bushes. Check into your tea estate hotel or resort surrounded by tea gardens. In the evening, take a guided walk through the estate — the smell of fresh tea leaves, the soft mountain mist, and the quiet rustling of leaves creates a profoundly peaceful atmosphere. Dinner at the hotel.

  • Cochin airport arrival and cab transfer to Munnar (3 hrs)
  • Tea estate hotel check-in in Munnar
  • Evening guided walk through tea gardens
  • Dinner at hotel; overnight
Day 2: Munnar Sightseeing — Eravikulam NP, Tea Museum, Echo Point & Kundala Lake

A full day exploring Munnar's natural wonders. Start early for Eravikulam National Park — the park is home to the Nilgiri Tahr (endangered mountain goat), and the rhododendron forests are stunning. Visit the KDHP Tea Museum to learn about the fascinating history of tea cultivation in Munnar and watch live demonstrations of tea processing. Drive to Echo Point on Mattupetty Lake — shout across the lake and hear your voice bounce back off the mountains. Finally, visit Kundala Lake and the beautiful Kundala Dam, surrounded by rolling tea hills. Return for a mountain sunset.

  • Eravikulam National Park — Nilgiri Tahr & rhododendron forests
  • KDHP Tea Museum — tea history & processing demo
  • Echo Point at Mattupetty Lake
  • Kundala Lake & Dam scenic visit
  • Return to hotel; overnight
Day 3: Munnar to Alleppey — Houseboat Check-in & Backwater Cruise

After breakfast, check out of Munnar and drive to Alleppey (Alappuzha) — 4 hours through rubber plantations, coconut groves, and the backwater lowlands of Kerala. Check into your traditional Kerala houseboat (kettuvallam) at noon — a converted rice barge with wooden bedrooms, a living area, and a sun deck. Cast off and begin your cruise through the legendary Vembanad backwaters. Glide silently past paddy fields being tended by farmers, coconut palms swaying in the breeze, village children waving from the banks, and traditional country boats laden with fresh produce. Your crew prepares all meals on board using fresh local ingredients — fish molee, appam, prawn curry, and the famous Kerala sadya thali. Watch the breathtaking golden sunset from the sun deck as herons fly overhead.

  • Morning check-out from Munnar; drive to Alleppey (4 hrs)
  • Houseboat check-in at Alleppey jetty
  • Cast off into Vembanad backwaters (afternoon)
  • Pass paddy fields, villages & coconut groves
  • All meals on board prepared by onboard cook
  • Sunset from sun deck; overnight on houseboat
Day 4: Morning Cruise — Houseboat Check-out & Fort Kochi Heritage Tour

Wake up to the sounds of birdsong and gentle water on the hull. Enjoy a final morning cruise through the backwaters as the mist lifts over the water. Houseboat check-out at 9 AM. Transfer to Fort Kochi (2 hours) — one of India's most historically significant and visually stunning cities, shaped by Portuguese, Dutch, and British influences. See the iconic Chinese fishing nets (cheena vala) that line the harbour — massive cantilevered fishing traps introduced by Chinese traders in the 14th century. Visit St. Francis Church (1503) — the oldest European church in India, where Vasco da Gama was originally buried. Explore the Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace) and the Jewish Synagogue in the Jew Town spice market. Overnight in Cochin.
