Day-wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Jaipur (Pink City) — Chowki Dhani Folk Evening

Arrive at Jaipur International Airport (or Jaipur Railway Station) and transfer to your heritage hotel. The Pink City lives up to its name — Maharaja Ram Singh painted the entire old city pink in 1876 to welcome the Prince of Wales, and the warm terracotta colour has defined Jaipur's identity ever since. In the evening, visit Chowki Dhani — a village-themed resort on the outskirts of Jaipur that recreates traditional Rajasthani village life. Enjoy folk music and dance performances, puppet shows, camel rides, and a traditional Rajasthani thali dinner served on the floor on banana leaves.

  • Arrive Jaipur; heritage hotel check-in
  • Evening at Chowki Dhani — Rajasthani folk village resort
  • Traditional Rajasthani thali dinner with live folk music
  • Puppet shows & camel rides
  • Overnight Jaipur
Day 2: Jaipur Sightseeing — Amber Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal & Jantar Mantar

Jaipur's magnificent sights day. Begin early at Amber Fort (12 km from Jaipur) — a spectacular hilltop fortress of pale yellow and pink sandstone and marble, built by Raja Man Singh I in 1592. Ride an elephant to the fort entrance (or jeep if preferred) — the elephant ride up the cobbled ramp is a classic Jaipur experience. Explore the fort's Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors) where a single candle flame appears as a thousand stars. Visit City Palace (still partly home to the royal family), the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds — 953 small windows designed for royal ladies to observe street life unseen), and Jantar Mantar — the world's largest stone sundial observatory, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. End at the colourful bazaars of Jaipur — Bapu Bazaar for block-printed textiles and Johari Bazaar for gems and jewellery.

  • Amber Fort — elephant ride up cobbled ramp
  • Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors) inside Amber Fort
  • City Palace — royal family residence & museum
  • Hawa Mahal — 953-window Palace of Winds

Day 3: Jaipur to Jodhpur — Mehrangarh Fort & Blue City Views

Morning departure for Jodhpur — the Blue City — a 5-hour drive across the Rajasthani countryside. Jodhpur is named for its sea of blue-painted houses that cascade down the hillside below the enormous Mehrangarh Fort — one of India's largest and best-preserved forts. The 15th-century fort stands on a 125-metre-high rocky cliff and houses some extraordinary palaces and museums. From the ramparts, the view of the blue city below is jaw-dropping. Visit the delicate Jaswant Thada cenotaph (white marble memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II). End at the Clocktower and Sardar Market — Jodhpur's busiest bazaar with spice mountains, tie-dye textiles, and the famous Jodhpuri sweets.

  • Drive Jaipur to Jodhpur (5 hrs via NH58)
  • Mehrangarh Fort — 15th century hilltop fortress (125 m cliff)
  • Panoramic views of the blue city from fort ramparts
  • Jaswant Thada — white marble cenotaph

Day 4: Jodhpur to Udaipur — Ranakpur Jain Temple En Route

Drive from Jodhpur to Udaipur (5 hours) via the spectacular 15th-century Ranakpur Jain Temple — one of the most intricate and beautiful temples in India, featuring 1,444 marble pillars each carved with unique designs, set in a peaceful forested valley. Allow 1–1.5 hours to fully appreciate this architectural masterpiece. Continue to Udaipur — the City of Lakes — and check into your hotel. First impressions of Udaipur are always overwhelming: the lake city nestled in the Aravalli hills with palaces rising from the water is simply one of India's most beautiful sights.

  • Drive Jodhpur to Ranakpur (2.5 hrs) — en route visit
  • Ranakpur Jain Temple — 1,444 unique marble pillars (15th century)
  • Continue to Udaipur (2.5 hrs)

Day 5: Udaipur Sightseeing — City Palace, Lake Pichola Boat & Rajasthani Dinner

Full-day Udaipur exploration. City Palace, built over 400 years by successive Maharanas, is a stunning collection of palaces, courtyards, and pavilions perched above Lake Pichola — the views from the top are spectacular. Take a boat ride on Lake Pichola to admire the Lake Palace Hotel (built on a lake island) and the Jag Mandir palace island — the inspiration for the Taj Mahal according to some historians. Visit the Saheliyon ki Bari (Garden of the Maids) with its ornate fountains and the Jagdish Temple. Evening at leisure — Udaipur has a wonderful selection of rooftop restaurants with lake views. Traditional Rajasthani dinner with folk music.
